How to make DIY Lavender Sachet Party Favors
Lavender sachets are a simple yet stylish way to thank your guests! Perfect for weddings, baby showers, birthdays, and more, these little bundles of calm fit right in with boho chic, farmhouse, or rustic-themed celebrations. Lavender-scented favors are a favorite at all kinds of weddings, and it’s easy to see why. They smell amazing! Your guests can pop them in their home, office, or even their car for a touch of relaxation and freshness wherever they go.
Many lavender sachet favors are made by simply pouring lavender seeds straight into a burlap or muslin bag but not this one! I’ve placed the lavender inside a tea sachet for a mess-free, no-spill experience. No runaway lavender seeds here! Just a perfectly neat and fragrant favor your guests will love.
Here are the items you’ll need for this DIY:
-Lavender seeds
-Tea sachets
-Burlap favor bags
-Hole punch
-Heat sealer
-Favor tags
Firstly, you’ll need to fill the tea sachets with the lavender seeds. I recommend filling them 3/4 of the way. You’ll need to leave space to seal the tea bags but don’t leave too much room so that the sachets look half empty.
Next you’ll need to heat seal the tea bags. I used this heat sealer from Uline. I tested several heat settings and 3 is the lowest heat setting that gave me a secure seal. DO NOT use a setting that’s too high. I tested higher settings too and it left the tea bag scorched and unsealed. Since the sachets are made using thin paper, the excess heat will burn right through the paper and the sachet will not seal.
Once you have sealed your tea bags, all you have to do is place them in the burlap bags and tie them shut. You can add a gift tag with a message to your guests. For the gift tags, I printed them using Avery paper. You can use either Avery 28877 or Avery 28878 paper for printing if you'd like rectangular tags. Finally, use a holepunch to create a hole at the top of the tags then slip them onto the burlap bag strings before tying the favors shut.
